Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and RecallsCheck.cy. Last updated 10 July 2026.

1. Who we are

RecallsCheck.cy (“we”, “us”, “the Service”), based in Larnaca, Cyprus, provides automated monitoring of official manufacturer recall portals for Japanese-import vehicles. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

2. What the Service does — and what it does not

We check the chassis (frame) number you provide against the official Japan-market recall portals of the supported brands (Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Isuzu) on a recurring schedule — twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) on individual plans, and weekly or daily on business plans depending on the cadence you set — and alert you by SMS when an open recall appears. On-demand checks run immediately when you request them and consume your on-demand check balance. Exact check times within a scheduled day may vary with system load and portal availability.

Important limitations you accept:

  • We monitor and alert only. We do not repair vehicles — recall remedies are carried out free of charge by the brand’s authorised dealer.
  • We rely on the manufacturers’ own portals. These can lag (a remedy may take up to ~2 weeks to show), can be temporarily unavailable, and may change without notice. We report results on a best-effort basis and cannot guarantee that every recall is detected, or detected immediately.
  • A “clear” result is not a statement about a vehicle’s condition, accident history or mileage, and is not a substitute for a professional inspection.
  • You remain responsible for acting on any recall and for verifying its status with an authorised dealer. Alerts are informational and are not safety or legal advice.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must have the right to monitor any vehicle and to receive alerts at the phone number(s) you add.

4. Plans & billing

New accounts can add a small number of free on-demand checks so you can check a car instantly before committing a slot. Paid plans, car slots and credit packs are billed as shown at checkout. Prices are in EUR and include VAT where applicable. Business subscriptions renew automatically via PayPal until cancelled; you can cancel anytime from your dashboard, and access continues until the end of the paid period. One-off purchases (including on-demand checks once consumed) are non-refundable once the check service has been provided, except where required by law.

5. Slots, credits & stopping a monitored vehicle

Your plan gives you monitoring capacity: car slots on individual plans, monthly credits on business plans (weekly cadence = 1, daily = 4 per vehicle per month). Monitoring a vehicle occupies that capacity while it is monitored; a vehicle cannot be paused — you either monitor it or stop (remove) it.

  • Each rolling month you may stop vehicles totalling up to 20% of your plan's capacity (minimum one slot) with the capacity freed immediately.
  • Beyond that allowance, a stopped vehicle's capacity remains in use for one month from the stop. This prevents rotating multiple vehicles through the same paid capacity. Re-adding the same vehicle (same chassis number) during that month reclaims its capacity at no extra cost; the hold expires on its own.
  • A stopped vehicle's recall history is kept and is restored if you re-add it. Permanent deletion of a vehicle's history is available once no capacity hold is active on it.

6. Notifications & consent

By adding a phone number you consent to receive recall-related SMS for the monitored vehicle(s). Message frequency depends on recall activity. You can stop alerts by removing the number or the vehicle, or by contacting us. Standard carrier rates may apply.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, access it by automated means outside any provided API, resell it without authorisation, or use it to monitor vehicles you have no legitimate interest in.

8. Data protection

We process the data you provide (such as chassis numbers, vehicle and contact details) to deliver the Service, in line with the GDPR and Cyprus data-protection law. We share data only with the processors needed to operate — for example our SMS and email providers — and with the official manufacturer portals when performing a check. We do not sell your data. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.

9. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from a recall that was not detected, was detected late, or from manufacturer-portal errors, downtime or inaccuracies. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. Your recall history may be retained as required for our records and legal obligations.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified to you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have exclusive jurisdiction.
